Kinokophone storytelling projects are not set to map out or define- they are more about uncovering connections that already exist in a fun participatory exploration of expression, imagination and ways to create.  Tales are told in conditions which foster their growth and reinvention.

Each person has a history, a memory, a belief or an aspiration. Storytelling opens up a creative avenue for presenting these experiences; enabling one to articulate, express and share. Throughout ages, in all corners of the world, humans young and old alike have connected with and made sense of the world through sharing stories.  Kinokophone seeks to expand upon established formats for digital storytelling projects. While still using the basic principal of creating short, participant-created narratives, we feel that using all forms of media and genres in storytelling should be encouraged. Stories can be fictitious, factual or a combination of both. They can be told through sound, pictures, objects, moving image or a combination of these or any other medium that the storyteller finds appropriate.
